Known from the floodplain of the Kilombero River between the village of Ifakara and the Kilombero ferry; also south of the Kilombero R., in pools alongside the road leading to Malinyi and 77 km south of the river. The larger distribution is in the basin of the river (Kibasara Swamp). Type locality, interconnected pools in a flooded grassy area, 2 km south of Ifakara, on the east side of the road to the ferry across the Kilombero River (Ref. 42930).
