Known from the European Black Sea watersheds, European Mediterranean Sea watersheds, Aegean Sea watersheds, Anatolian Mediterranean Sea watersheds, Western Anatolian lake watersheds, Anatolian Black Sea watersheds, Caspian Sea watersheds and Gulf watersheds (Firat Nehri, Dicle Nehri) (Ref. 58342). Also Ref. 106151. Found in the Gümüldür stream near Izmir (Ref. 26100, 12259). A short-lived species which inhabits water courses in lowland rivers. Is threatened due to habitat destruction and pollution (Ref. 26100). Also Ref. 12255, 26100.

Status of threat: Least concern (Ref. 58342). EurTurk.
