Known from Hawai'i Island to Kure Atoll at 4-42 m (Ref. 58302); also reported from the mixohaline ponds of Kona coast (Ref. 46928). Museum: Honolulu, USNM 49700 (Holotype of Eupomacentrus marginatus); USNM 50671 (Holotype of Pomacentrus jenkinsi), USNM 126552 (Paratypes). Waianae, Oahu, ANSP 69752 (Holotype of Pomacentrus vanderbilti), ANSP 69755-56.
