Occurs in the basins of the Baltic and White seas, Murman coast, Kolguev, and Novaya Zemlya, Acrtic Ocean basin in Siberia, Anadyr, Kamchatka and Bering I. (Ref. 2058). May be abundant at certain times of the year that natives of Siberia catch them for human or dog food (Ref. 27547).
