Introduced on O'ahu in 1922 for mosquito control and has subsequently spread throughout the state; recenlty wild guppies (and other top minnows) were identified as carriers of parasitic nematodes and tapeworms that infect native 'o'opu (Ref. 44091). Known from Maui, Moloka'i, O'ahu and Kaua'i (Ref. 58302). |
