Found in the east side of San Joaquin Valley in lower Merced, Kaweah, Kings, and San Joaquin rivers in California (Ref. 86798). Collected from San Joaquin River Basin in Merced River and Friant-Kern Canal, the latter connects Kern River to the San Joaquin River, California (Ref. 89241). Known from the Pacific Central Valley (Ref. 81264).

Status of threat: threatened; status declined since 1989. Criteria: 1,2,45 (http://fisc.er.usgs.gov/afs/) (Ref. 81264).
