Native to many Canadian provinces; introduced into Alberta (Ref. 52559). Commonly farmed in eastern Canada. Important sport fish in arctic Canada and important in the subsistence fishery of eskimos in some regions (Ref. 27547). Also Ref. 5723, 58426, 86798, 95143, 118021, 119194, 118443.
