Comments

Found in diverse habitats ranging from free flowing clear water streams, well up into the valleys, to slow turbid waters, water courses, irrigation and drainage ditches, and ponds on the plains. Most large impoundments, including reservoirs in oil and sugar industries as well as Water and Sewerage Authority lakes, support populations. A small reservoir at the Sugar Cane Feeds Center supports a monoculture which is an unusual phenomenon.
