Type locality, SU 9064 (holotype of Amia elizabethae, 6.53 cm SL) (Ref. 58479). Reported from Cape D'Aguilar (Ref. 33067); along the northern coast of Lantau Island (Ref. 126090); Sharp Island (Ref. 94637); Hoi Ha Wan, Yan Chau Tong, and Tung Ping Chau (Ref. 129329). Also reported from Mirs Bay, Tolo Channel, and Tolo Harbour (Ref. 126271). The species was observed on 11 to 100 occasions during 400 dive surveys on artificial reefs (Ref. 119494).
