Occurs in southern Australia, from Sydney in New South Wales to Perth in Western Australia, including Tasmania and southern seamounts. Most common in 780-1,100 m. By-catch of the Australian orange roughy fishery but not normally utilized (Ref. 6871). Also Ref. 247, 7300.
