Distribution: Acipenser gueldenstadti colchica Marti, 1940 from Eurasia: Southeastern Black Sea basin, Rioni drainage, and Georgian and Turkish coasts; lower Danube. Considered critically endangered and one of the most threatened fish species in Europe, but with no known attempt to protect it.
