Description synthétique
Morphologie | Morphométrie
Épines dorsales (Total): 2; Rayons mous dorsaux (Total): 26; Épines anales 2; Rayons mous anaux: 15; Vertèbres: 32. This species is distinguished from its congeners in having a very slender body, with greatest body depth 15.8 % SL and depth at dorsal-fin origin 15.3 % SL). It also has a higher number of vertebrae (14 + 18) (Ref. 76877).
The species was observed (by R. Myers) to hover within half a meter of the side of the cave (the cave with a large chimney with 3-4 m opening in a shelf about 20 m, and a large opening in the adjacent wall from about 36 to at least 50 m). Seeks refuge (darts) into a hole when approached within 2-3 meters (Ref. 76877).
