Etymology: Cobitis: Greek, kobitis, -idos = a kind of sardine; also related with the voice Greek, kobios, Latin gobius = gudgeon (Ref. 45335);  albicoloris: Synonym of Sabanejewia bulgarica (Drensky 1928) -- (Kottelat 1997:92 [ref. 22952], Vassilev & Pehlivanov 2005:173 [ref. 28369], Kottelat & Freyhof 2009:80-81 [ref. 30320]).

Issue
This species is synonym of Sabanejewia bulgarica (Drensky, 1928) in Eschmeyer (CofF ver. May 2011: Ref. 86870) following Kottelat & Freyhof (2009: Ref. 83710). The species page will be removed
