পৃষ্ঠীয় কাঁটা (মোট ): 7; পৃষ্ঠীয় নরম পাখনা দন্ড (মোট ): 10; পায়ূ কাঁটা 1; পায়ূর নরম পাখনা্তুন্ড: 9; কশেরুকা : 26. This species is distinguished by the following characters: body with 7 dark, wide bars; caudal peduncle deep; no scales on opercle or preopercle; DVI-I,10 modally; A I,9; pectoral-fin rays 18 modally (Ref. 39609).

Maximum depth from Ref. 126840. Occurs over sandy bottom with many algae covered boulders from 9.1-10.7 m and over sand, rock and algae from tide pools at 0-1 m (Ref. 39609).
