Etymology: Rhinopias: Greek, rhinos = nose + Greek, ops = appearance (Ref. 45335);  cea: Named after Dr. Alfredo Cea Egaña, in recognition of his contribution to the knowledge of the fishes of Easter I., the documentation of their native names, and for his dedication to the people of Rapa Nui as their physician for many years..

Short description Morphology | Morphometrics

Dorsal spines (total): 12; Dorsal soft rays (total): 9; Anal spines: 3; Anal soft rays: 5. 4th dorsal spine longest (Ref. 26890). Brownish orange-red, finely mottled with pale and blotched with dark brown, most conspicuous marking being two dark blotches on body above pectoral fin (Ref. 26890).
