Diagnosis: labial disk moderately developed and rounded, with thick papillae covering almost its entire surface; mandibular barbels short; auxiliary barbels absent; premaxillary teeth large, arranged in 4-5 rows; only known specimen has 7+6 mandibular teeth, but typical number for this species is probably 7+7; adipose fin short, beginning slightly ahead of anal-fin origin; caudal fin weakly forked, lower lobe longer than upper; eyes not very well developed; dorsal surface of head with longitudinal epidermic ridges forming vermiculations (Ref. 57223). Coloration: body covered with numerous small dark spots, more or less uniformly distributed on dorsal surface (colour hardly visible on preserved holotype)(Ref. 57223).

Estimates based on models

Phylogenetic diversity index (Ref. 82804):  PD50 = 0.5000   [Uniqueness, from 0.5 = low to 2.0 = high].
Bayesian length-weight: a=0.01000 (0.00244 - 0.04107), b=3.04 (2.81 - 3.27), in cm total length, based on all LWR estimates for this body shape (Ref. 93245).
Trofisk nivå (Ref. 69278):  3.1   ±0.4 se; based on size and trophs of closest relatives
Resiliens (Ref. 120179):  Hög, lägsta populationsfördubblingstid mindre än 15 månader (Preliminary K or Fecundity.).
Fishing Vulnerability (Ref. 59153):  Low vulnerability (10 of 100).
