Biology     Glossary (e.g. epibenthic)

Found in muddy or sandy waters of freshwater rivers and estuaries (Ref. 57343). Regularly enters freshwater streams during the spawning season, and probably at other times (Ref. 9685). Large numbers of adults and young caught during the rainy season in the Chao Phraya River and other rivers of that system. Feeds on crustaceans, small fishes, and benthic organisms (Ref. 57343). Marketed fresh (Ref. 12693). Small fish may be used as duck feed and fertilizer (Ref. 9685).

Estimates based on models

Phylogenetic diversity index (Ref. 82804):  PD50 = 0.5039   [Uniqueness, from 0.5 = low to 2.0 = high].
Bayesian length-weight: a=0.00562 (0.00269 - 0.01173), b=3.06 (2.87 - 3.25), in cm total length, based on LWR estimates for this (Sub)family-body shape (Ref. 93245).
Trophic level (Ref. 69278):  3.7   ±0.55 se; based on food items.
Resilience (Ref. 120179):  High, minimum population doubling time less than 15 months (Preliminary K or Fecundity.).
Fishing Vulnerability (Ref. 59153):  Low vulnerability (14 of 100).
