Épines dorsales (Total): 0; Rayons mous dorsaux (Total): 18-21; Épines anales 0; Rayons mous anaux: 26 - 28. Petrocephalus haullevillii is distinguished from P. congicus by the absence of a rosette of electroreceptor organs above the eye (Ref. 91771). Teeth bicuspid, 11-14 in upper jaw and 16-18 in lower jaw (Ref. 41597).
