Snout pointed and head relatively large and deep; eyes very narrow and have a prominent mass of choroid tissue. Br2 is already present at 4.5 mm; Vn appear at about 5.9 mm. No other photophores were present in the 7.2 mm larva. Pigmentation: No pigmentation present on tail; a single stellate melanophore present ventrally on base of the pectoral fin, and another one dorsally on inner side of the fin; another group of melanophores present on opercular margin.
