Larvae have an immense spherical yolk-sac that contains an oil droplet at its most posterior point. The heart doesn't begin beating until five hours after hatching. Yolk is completely absorbed within one to two days of hatching (Ref. 240). |

On the 2nd day after hatching, eye pigments, vertical fin folds, and pelvic fin rudiments (anlagen) have begun to develop. After 3 days, the jaws are developed. After 4 days, the gut developed. Feeding may occur at this point (Ref. 240). |
