Diagnostic characters: small anterior and posterior preopercular spines; smooth supraocular and supracleithral ridges from early postflexion stage; large melanophores dorsally on head. Scales start to develop from about 13 mm BL (Ref. 55737). Sequence of fin formation: caudal (up to <7.1 mm); dorsal (<7.1-7.4 mm); pectoral (<7.1-7.4 mm); pelvic (<7.1-9.0 mm); anal (<7.1-0.9 mm). Larvae settle on the bottom at about 11.7 mm BL. |
