Comments: Spawns in the spring, as early as May in the southern part of the range, and as late as July in the far north. Spawning runs begin after water temperatures have reached 5°C, with greatest intensity occurring at temperatures above 10°C (Ref. 10928, 28925). Spawning occurs in shallow streams (10 to 60 cm deep), mostly over gravel, and with a current 30 to 45 cm per second (Ref. 10928). A single female may produce up to 60,300 eggs (Ref. 10928, 28926).
