Definition of Term

fright reaction
(English) Wriggling, darting and other movements stimulated in members of the Cypriniformes and Gonorhynchiformes on scenting the alarm substance released from the injured skin of their own or a related species. These movements serve to warn of or confuse a predator. (See also: predator)
