| Remarks | Samples collected from the Atlantic coast (North Carolina) and the Gulf of Mexico (Florida, Mississippi, Louisiana, and Texas) (n = 96) and from the Pacific Ocean (Island of Oahu, Hawaii) (n = 19). The mt control region (CR) and flanking tRNA genes were cloned and sequenced, species -specific primers were then designed. Analyses revealed an extraordinary level of sequence divergence between fish from both oceans (Ref. 74874). Also Ref. 38385. |
