| Remark: | Oxyeleotris marmorata is fairly common in Singapore. It used to be found only in brackish water habitats but has been introduced to freshwater reservoirs. It is a sought-after food fish and is sold alive in restaurants. When out of the water the fish rights itself, supporting itself with its pectoral fins like a mudskipper and making crawling motions like walking catfish, and opening its mouth and gill govers, presumably to make use of atmospheric oxygen. | ||||
