Max. size:  6 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  South America: Orinoco River basin, in the Portuguesa, Aracua, and lower Caura River drainages, and along the mainstream of the lower Orinoco River to Barrancas.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Eggs are deposited on the ceiling of caves and are tendered by the female parent (Ref. 47893).

Threat to humans:  harmless
Country info:  Known from the Orinoco River basin, in the Portuguesa, Aracua, and lower Caura River drainages, and along the mainstream of the lower Orinoco River to Barrancas (Ref. 36377).
