Distribution:  Africa: Sanaga, Nyong, Ntem, Ivindo, Lobo, Dja, Sangha, Doumé, Boumba, lower Ubangi and middle Congo River basin in Cameroon, Gabon, Congo Republic and Democratic Republic of the Congo (Ref. 47774).
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Restricted to the inland plateau (Ref. 47774) where it inhabits raffia swamps and swampy parts of shallow brooks under forest cover (Ref. 3788, 47774). Bottom spawner, 2 months incubation (Ref. 27139).
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 16 February 2009 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
Country info:  Known from the upper Sanaga, Nyong, Lobo, Dja, Doumé, Boumba and Ivindo drainage basins in southern Cameroon (Ref. 3788, 47774). Present at Ayos, Djoum, M'bandjok and Sangmelima (Ref. 31267). Also Ref. 27139, 51193.
