Max. size:  18.4 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; brackish; marine; depth range 0 - 24 m
Distribution:  Eastern Indian Ocean: southern Australia, from Albany and Cottesloe, Western Australia to Moruya Point, southern New South Wales.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Occurs in rock pools and estuaries. Found among vegetation. Ovoviviparous (Ref. 205). The male carries the eggs in a brood pouch which is found under the tail (Ref. 205). Males may be brooding at 9.35 cm SL.
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 17 November 2015 Ref. (130435)

Country info:  Known from Moruya Point, southern New South Wales to Albany and Cottesloe, Western Australia. Type locality: Port Phillip Heads, Victoria (Ref. 5316). Also Ref. 51523.
