Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater; brackish; marine, amphidromous
Distribution:  Asia: Philippines and Indonesia. Oceania: Micronesia (Ref. 59012).
Diagnosis:  Anal spines: 1-1; Anal soft rays: 7-7. Distinguished by the following characteristics: compress-bodied; row of x-shaped dark blotches along mid-side of body; distinct blackish W-shaped shoulder blotch present; pale spots on side of head; nasal pores absent; lateral canal and pore over preopercle usually absent; second dorsal and anal fin rays I,7; pectoral rays 15-20; longitudinal scales 23-31; TRB 8-11; predorsal scales 9-14; circumpeduncular scales 12 (Ref. 84480).
Biology:  Known from fresh water lakes and streams from Luzon, Philippines (Ref. 84480).
