Distribution:  Africa: Ruvu, Great Ruaha, Kilombero, and lower Rufiji river drainage and delta; other smaller eastward flowing river drainages in eastern Tanzania.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Found in small rivers, brooks, and shallow parts of river drainages (Ref. 3788). Not a seasonal killifish. Is difficult to maintain in aquarium (Ref. 27139).
