Max. size:  4.5 cm TL (male/unsexed); 5.5 cm (female)
Environment:  benthopelagic; pH range: 7.5; dH range: 10 - 25
Distribution:  Central America: Rio Atoyac near Chico in Veracruz, Mexico.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Inhabits fast flowing river with an average depth of 2 m. Occurs with other livebearers, Xiphophorus hellerii and Heterandria jonesi.
