Max. size:  124 cm WD (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater; brackish; marine; depth range 1 - 4 m
Distribution:  Oceania: Australia.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  This benthic species is found mainly in rivers, estuaries and low salinity coastal environments. It feeds mainly on small fishes and prawns, which it actively pursues, even beaching itself to trap prey (Ref. 114953).
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 18 May 2015 Ref. (130435)
