Environment:  demersal; marine; depth range - 316 m
Distribution:  Western Central Pacific: Indonesia, Arafura Sea.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 5-5; Dorsal soft rays (total): 13-13; Anal soft rays: 13-13; Vertebrae: 26-26. This species is distinguished by the following characters: prelingual filament short and wide; preopercular with four spines and inner edge of the supracleithrum with two; no developed occipital lobes; the upper posterior margin of pectoral with a notch; A 13; total vertebrae 26; with a completely scaled predorsal region; normally developed scale between the lateral line and the base of D; oblique row of scales on the sides of the body 51. Colouration: monotonous brown on the dorsal side of the body and with a brown pigmentation of pectorals clearly visible to the naked eye, the lower half colored much more intensely than the upper one (Ref. 123279).
