Max. size:  50 cm SL (male/unsexed); max.weight: 1,500.0 g
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  Asia: Qinghai Province, China.
Diagnosis:  Head large and depressed; barbels 3 pairs; caudal fin emarginate and upper lobe slightly longer. Body yellowish brown, with dark brown circles and cloudy patterns on back and sides, light yellow on abdomen and spots on fins.
Biology:  Lives in rivers at high elevation above sea level. Carnivorous. Spawns from July to August (Ref. 45563).
