Max. size:  6.83 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; freshwater
Distribution:  South America: endemic to the rio da Prata and rio Turvo basins, tributaries of rio das Antas, in the laguna dos Patos system in Brazil.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  The type locality is a rapid flowing, wide and shallow river with an average depth of 0.5 m, clear water, rocky bottom and large amounts of submerged vegetation. Feeds on larvae of Diptera (Chironomidae, Simuliidae) and nymphs of Ephemeroptera (Ref. 93814).
