Distribution:  Asia: Lake Towuti, Indonesia.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 9-11; Anal spines: 1-1; Anal soft rays: 12-14. Differs from its only known congeners, T. aurea, in having 27-31 gill rakers on first gill-arch (vs. 31-36) and in the coloration of the living males (body plain blue or red; caudal red; dorsal, anal and pelvic blue or red) (Ref. 7304). Description: D1 V-VIII, D2 I,9-11 rays (Ref. 7304).
