Family:  Pomacentridae (Damselfishes), subfamily: Microspathodontinae
Max. size:  10 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; marine; depth range 0 - 25 m, non-migratory
Distribution:  Eastern Atlantic: Senegal to Angola; also from the Canary Islands, Cape Verde, and around islands in the Gulf of Guinea.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 12-12; Dorsal soft rays (total): 15-16; Anal spines: 2-2; Anal soft rays: 13-14
Biology:  Adults inhabit rocky areas (Ref. 7247). Oviparous, distinct pairing during breeding (Ref. 205). Eggs are demersal and adhere to the substrate (Ref. 205). Males guard and aerate the eggs (Ref. 205).
