Environment:  reef-associated; marine; depth range 0 - 5 m
Distribution:  Western Atlantic: Bahamas and Puerto Rico to the northern coast of South America.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 0-0; Dorsal soft rays (total): 43-45; Anal spines: 2-2; Anal soft rays: 22-24
Biology:  Inhabits eroded limestone shorelines where the bottom is studded with small stinging corals, brain corals, sea fans, etc. (Ref. 5521).
