Max. size:  4 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater; pH range: 6 - 6.80000019073486; dH range: 8, non-migratory
Distribution:  South America: Araguaia-Tocantins River basin.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Bottom spawner, 6 months incubation. Is very difficult to maintain in aquarium (Ref. 27139).
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 07 November 2018 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
