Environment:  demersal; marine; depth range 15 - 117 m
Distribution:  Indian Ocean: Gulf of Oman to the Andaman Sea off southern Thailand.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 9-9; Dorsal soft rays (total): 12-13; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 12-12. Brown in color, paler ventrally, sometimes with indistinct bars; prominent blackish spots along spines and rays of dorsal fins; pelvic fins dusky (Ref. 11441).
Biology:  Found on mud or sand bottoms (Ref. 11441).
