Max. size:  27.94 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  South America: Amazon and Orinoco River basins.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 13-17; Anal soft rays: 29-33; Vertebrae: 36-38. Proximal black band on caudal fin, vertically elongated stripes on the lateral body and no prominent vertical humeral blotch.
