Family:  Sebastidae (Rockfishes, rockcods and thornyheads), subfamily: Sebastinae
Max. size:  25.5 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  bathydemersal; marine; depth range 200 - 1100 m
Distribution:  Eastern Central Pacific: restricted to the Gulf of California along the coast of Baja California, Mexico.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Adults are found at a depth between 200 and 1,100 m; larvae encountered near the surface; and juveniles sometimes mesopelagic (Ref. 9341). Viviparous (Ref. 34817).
