Environment:  bathypelagic; marine; depth range 200 - 4000 m
Distribution:  Eastern Pacific: British Columbia, Canada (Ref. 11980) to Chile (Ref. 36655, 9068). South China Sea (Ref.74511).
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 2-2; Dorsal soft rays (total): 10-12; Anal spines: 1-1; Anal soft rays: 7-9; Vertebrae: 24-27. Branchiostegal rays: 8 (Ref. 36655).
Biology:  A mesopelagic and bathypelagic species. Oviparous, with planktonic eggs and larvae (Ref. 36655).
