Family:  Carangidae (Jacks and pompanos), subfamily: Scomberoidinae
Max. size:  70 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  reef-associated; marine; depth range 10 - 13 m
Distribution:  Indo-West Pacific: East Africa to the Philippines, north to China, south to Australia.
Diagnosis:  Spots on sides elongate vertically, forming short bars in adults (Ref. 48635).
Biology:  Adults inhabit inshore waters at a temperature range of 26.0-29.0 °C (Ref. 4959). Adults feed mainly on fish. Usually seen swimming solitary in surface waters (Ref. 48635).
