Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  Asia: Mekong basin (Ref. 33690) and Maeklong basin (Ref. 26336).
Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 12-13; Anal soft rays: 8-8. Bars on posterior half of body close together, often forming a wide longitudinal stripe with a more or less uninterrupted longitudinal light stripe above it; males with suborbital flap; processus dentiformis present, 9+8 branched caudal rays, 8-9 1/2 branched dorsal rays; complete lateral line; axillary pelvic lobe present (Ref. 39226).
Biology:  Inhabits a small stream running among piles of pebbles, with clear water depth up to 50 cm and moderate to swift current (Ref. 39226).
