Max. size:  1.14 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  reef-associated; marine
Distribution:  Western Indian Ocean: Red Sea (but expected to have a broader distribution range).
Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 13-14; Anal soft rays: 10-11. This moderately elongate and unpigmented species is distinguished by the following characters: body depth at pectoral-fin origin 4-5% of standard length (SL) and at anal-fin origin 5-7% SL; predorsal length 66-70% SL, pre-anal length 66-71% SL; D 13-14; A 10-11; first dorsal-fin ray at myomere 20 or 21 and first anal-fin ray below second to fourth dorsal-fin rays; myomeres 19-20 + 13-14 = 33-34 total; premaxillae and dentaries with small teeth; gas bladder located posteriorly at 56-60% SL; males have a rod-like, flexible urogenital papilla lacking lobes, projections or accessory papillae, the distal half tapering to a broad, angular point and usually posteriorly directed (Ref. 116152).
Biology:  Collected by a light trap in a shallow fringing reef lagoon at night (Ref. 116152).
