Large-scale crested righteye flounder

Max. size:  4.5 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; marine; depth range 6 - 85 m
Distribution:  Indian Ocean: Kosi Bay, South Africa (Ref. 11228) and Gulf of Martaban, Myanmar. Recently reported from the Chesterfield Islands (Ref. 11897).
Diagnosis:  Only about the first 8 dorsal-fin rays elongate, the longest about 2.5 times head length (Ref 12933).
Biology:  Feeds on small benthic animals.
