Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  Asia: Kerala, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu in India.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 11-11; Anal soft rays: 7-8
Biology:  Inhabits clear water streams and inundated paddy fields (Ref. 41236).
