Family:  Balitoridae (River loaches)
Max. size:  5.8 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; freshwater
Distribution:  Asia: Mekong basin in Yunnan, China and the Xe Bangfai basin, a tributary of the Mekong in Laos.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 11-11; Anal soft rays: 7-7. Has a more slender appearance; the pectoral fin not reaching the origin of the pelvic fins; 52-58 lateral line scales (Ref. 27732); 12 branched pectoral rays; body depth 16.9% SL; body width 18.2% SL; eye diameter 12% HL (Ref. 34782). Pectoral fin with 7 simple and 12 branched rays (Ref. 43281).
