Family:  Pseudochromidae (Dottybacks), subfamily: Pseudochrominae
Max. size:  7.05 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  reef-associated; marine; depth range 15 - 30 m
Distribution:  Western Indian Ocean: Comores and Indonesia.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 3-3; Dorsal soft rays (total): 26-27; Anal spines: 3-3; Anal soft rays: 15-16; Vertebrae: 26-26. This species distinguished by the following characters: 26-27 segmented dorsal-fin rays; 15-16 segmented anal fin rays; 41-43 scales in lateral line series; emarginate to strongly emarginate caudal fin; when preserved, dark grayish brown spot on opercular flap, upper part of head and body dark grayish brown, the rest abruptly pale yellowish brown; dark spots on dorsal fin absent (Ref. 81967).
Biology:  Collected from reefs and reef slopes (Ref. 81967).
